LNF Break Pads

Hi guys.

Just curious, after your stock pads go, what is everyone upgrading to?
I'm looking to do something relatively cheap with little dust. My stockers coat my rims within a week.

Thanks for your input!!

Brake pads... sorry I can't help correcting ppl.

I've switched to Hawk HPS for the front and rear from R1Concepts. They don't make the rims dirty fast at all. Last long and perform well.

depends on what you consider upgrading. Do you want something that dusts less but will not perform as well. Usually pads that perform well dust a lot, at least from my experience. I ran HPS pads after my stock ones, and they didn't dust much at all, but they were a very noticeable step down in performance. The stock pads are some of the best performing out there for this car.

Honestly, unless you road race or autox regularly, you will be fine with other pads.

if youre never going to use the full potential of the stock pads (ie road racing and autox) whats the point? its almost as pointless as putting in 6 puck clutch in a stock civic. sure, its an upgrade in every way, but youre never really going to push it.

thats how i see it anyways. keep in mind the differences in the pads only come into play when racing anyway.

lsj guys seem to do ok with regular bakes.

then why on earth... did you buy a car with 260hp/260ftlb.. brembo calipers.. stiff suspension, uses premium gas,225/40/18 etc.. when that stuff comes into play when racing anyways..

people are doing fine with 120hp, regular suspension, regular gas, 195/60/15... etc...

if you want to go further.. why buy this car if your not going to road race or autox...

oops steeping on peoples toes... seems kind of pointless when a regular ls or lt is fine for the road

because its a gread DD car that i can drag race and still get 32mpg on the highway with over 360whp.

trust me my car gets used, just not so much in autox or road racing.

and before you go saying about how drag racing a fwd is dumb, i do it for fun. also keep in mind there are lots of folks on here who drag their cobalts.

People upgrade their motors, charge pipes, IC's, D/Ps, intakes, exhausts, Tunes etc and they won't spend the extra $75 to replace the stock Brembo brake pads. Seems they want to downgrade this part.

I'm totally stumped.

the ferrodos are a street/track pad and not a full on track pad. and in all honesty i think anything else inside them brembos is complete crap. weather you use it or not. if your going to switch them out you might as well swap out to lsj brakes imho and get some coin for brakes you wnt use. just my 2 cents.
