Its fraking upside down!! Its an easy fix to do at home cause I damn sure would NEVER go back to that shop! Jack up the car, pull the wheel, pull the bolt off the bottom of the shock, the rear will drop down take the spring out and trun it over! Jack the rear back up put the shocks bolt back on install the tire lower the car and your done!

Whole job shouldn't take more then a half hour.

Good luck.

look in the picture, see the orange rubber piece sticking down in the middle of the spring thats a bumpstop. gutting it would allow more travel in the spring if you were to hit a big bump. but cutting them or removing them can be a bad idea if the roads suck near you.

Since they do just what they say, they stop the wheel from coming all the way up and breaking anything during big bumps.

The first pic you show that side is upside down. The spring should sit flush with the yellow colered rubber pad. Flip that one over and it should fix it.

What kind of spring is that? There doesn't look like there is a lot of coil there. My Eibachs have a super-tightly wound coil on the rears with a progressive rate.

I just checked the SSC web site for some info about these springs. Their own application guide just says "Cobalt". It doesn't even say which one. I have to assume the drop amount they list is for the stock base model, not the SS. In which case, the drop on an SS is less than a half inch up front and nothing in the rear. They keep the same coil rate, which means they have the same amount spring in them as stock. It seems they would basically do nothing for an SS. With the Eibach Pro-kit, you also don't get a real big drop, but at least you get a tighter coil rate and firmer ride.

The SSC spring cost $130 versus Eibach $280. But to spend even $130, plus the install labor, for a spring that doesn't do anything different seems kindda silly.

Do a little bit more research...

Rear Before(stock):

Rear After(SSC):

SSC Springs are a great value.

just flip them yourself. as soon as u jack up the rear of the car the back springs literally fall out. take you 5 minutes.

Everybody always get so touchy. I fear your pictures show nothing. They are at different angles with different light. Just measure it. And I always do my research. However, I don't wish to start a war.

the pictures obviously show one is installed upsidedown. look at the size of the spring on the drivers side at the top and the size of the spring on the passenger side at the top

Halfcent my brother look at my thread
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/suspension-67/zzp-ssc-springs-27647/

These springs are awesome and they dropped my SS very nicely.
P7X was down here for a meet and his SS is dropped with Sportlines and compared to my SS it's a pretty similar drop.

Not the spring pictures, I could see the problem with those. The before/after pictures of the car.

So, from what I'm hearing, the "cobalt" listed in SSC application guide and the associated drop is for a stock SS? That was the part I couldn't be sure of, as I stated.
