To Lower Or Not To Lower.........

Need some quick advise again fellas. I work for a dealership and my SS/SC should be in in a little over a month. I have already ordered my exhaust sytem, intake, and the parts department already has a standing order for my stage 2 as soon as gm releases it (which gm has told my parts girl will be next week). I am about to order the eibach 1.6" front and 1.8" rear. Should I lower the car???? I have talked to my shop foreman. They are all about me doing these things to my car cause they think that the SS/SCs are gonna be a hot item so they wanna get their hands on mine to do as much as they can. The forman has told me he will still be able to get good alignment on it and I shouldn't wear tires. I think i'm gonna do it unless anyone can tell my why I shouldn't.

Let me know guys. Thanks

Went ahead and moved over to suspension section.
2.0L is for engine technical.

From what everybody has said on here... lowering should be no problem.
The cobalt suspension is very adjustable if properly alignned at the dealer should be fine.

I'm not a real big fan of lowering the SS Cobalts... IMHO they're plenty low as is... go much more and you're gonna have problems getting in and out of driveways, shop entrances, and the like. I have enough problems with my stock setup, but maybe that's because I'm used to driving something with more clearance.

Maybe fork over the dough for a bagged setup? It'll give ya some adjustment if you need it.

lower it... as soon as i get the money i will be lowering mine... i can't stand huge gaps between wheel and fender... i would put bigger wheels but that wouldn't help, plus a lowered cobalt looks good...

??????????? What the hell are you talkin about little kid! He asked if he should lower his car. Nobody said anything about staged kits. Maybe you just posted on the wrong topic or you are a very angry person.

definitely, nobody deserves to ride in a 4x4

plus who couldn't benefit from some stiffer springs?

my eibachs got here tonight
i got the sportlines, from my expireince, you tend to scrape less with stiffer springs than stock
i dont care how low it is, it scrapes stock and i know how to drive lowered cars might as well it handle and look better

also dont fret the tire wear
these cars run pretty neg camber from the get go so just make the camber as even as possible and set the toe
the adjustment os pretty easy

I think im going with the H&R, the other springs are good but I dont wanna lower my SS too much and not to mention I wanna keep the raised look in the rear all other besides H&R even out our cars.

I personally dislike all of the springs out there. I mean I understand that to eliminate the wheel gap you have to lower it more in the rear than the front, but then it looks akward.

I want to do it mostly for the performace. My Z24 was lowered 2inches and it made a world of difference in the way it cornered.

You take ANY car lower it and slap a nice set of rims and it looks 200x better.

If you are going to lower it, i would lower it with these... https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/suspension-67/whos-interested-full-easystreet-air-suspension-kit-9720/ Just because it looks better doesnt mean it is going to ride better.

There is enough adjustment to align it if you lower it within reason. If you slam it anything over 2" im told then you would need to modify your suspension to get you alignment within spec
