Lowering the 2.4

Hey guys, I have a 2006 SS 2.4 and I want to lower it. I really don't know much about springs and what else I would need to keep a smooth ride. I was wondering if someone could give me some helpful info. I don't drive it in the winter so I don't need to worry about driving in snow or anything.
P.S. I am a girl so help me out! lol

Just buy a set of lowering springs either from one of the vendors or used from someone on here and then have someone in your area put them on. You'll probably need an alignment when you're done. Seeing as you're a girl i'm sure you'll be able to find someone on here who will help you out lol.

how does your car handle with those springs? is it necessary to buy the sway bars?

pics?......

of you hahaha.

i have a 2.4 also and i am lowered on tenzo springs. They are relatively cheap, however offer a great ride, with a great look. Contrary to what everyone says, these are AMAZING springs. I've been in cars lowered on eibachs and other springs and can tell no difference between theirs and mine. For the price you can't beat them.

The only thing you really need to buy would be the springs. I have a front strut bar and rear sway bar and while they do make a difference you don't need umm. If you wanna step it up later on down the road then you can get them. As far as brands honestly there's all different threads about how low different springs will go. For the most part as far as lowering springs go it doesn't make a huge difference.

Get the sportlines and you will need an alignment after the install. Have who ever installs it take a look at your struts/shocks to see what kind of shape they are in. You will need to replace them eventually.

My suspension is different than yours but I believe for your car it will do an inch in the front and about 1.3 in the rear if you go with sportlines. As far as other springs go I'm not really sure. But yea any way you put it stock ride height does suck.

and yea shocks and struts will eventually be an issue.

lol sorry i completely forgot that. i looked at the pics in your gallery and the back looks just like an ss/sc thats why i was thinking that. i know the thread title is lowering a 2.4. But yea you'll be happy with the drop the sportlines give ya and it'll make an even more noticeable difference than i said before.

Yea they should be fine for a while. Lowering puts more stress on them. I think when I replace mine it will be with the SS/TC shocks/struts.

I have the cobalt-addiction #1 springs. Rides good, not too low, handles well. Don't forget to cut your bumpstops. Or have whoever does them to cut them

Oh btw. Your hot!!!

If you go low leave your bumpstops ALONE.......DO NOT CUT them. Its my opinion that cutting bumpstops is what allows struts/shocks to blow with lowering springs.

Lookin forward to the pics. Another suggestion would be to get the ss front lip for your car too. It would really finish off the look.

Finally a pic with THOSE b&g springs. I've been waiting to see them on another Balt

Btw , maven, even tho sportlines say to cut you don't think they should? Isn't the ride gonna be bottoming out all the time? That's gonna be a horrible ride
