Lowering springs are the cheapest way. Usually cost no more than $275.
The ride will be more harsh, but handling will be better.
You will obviously be more likely to bottom out on ramped driveways and speed bumps.

you can go with springs while using your factory struts you can look on ebay and get a good set for about 200 bucks and then u will need a alingment to be safe. I have a ls and went 2" in front 2.50" in rear and so far no negative effets

Here's an answer before the trolls give the "search speech"

You have three good options

Air ride system: works like, lets you adjust the height of your car via airbag system. but it's high in price around 2500-3500

Coilovers: Pricey as wel,l but not as much 899-2000: also adjustable, but more for road racing, and auto x

lowering springs: best route to go if you're looking more mild to mid performance price range from mid 200- high 400's

Also springs differ in drop.

Springs that drop the lowest are progress, tenzo's H&R, Eibach sportlines
Springs that drop mid to mild are SCC & Eibach prokit, and couple others

Check the supporting vendors for all these products.
