Lowering spring questions

I am in the market for Eibach Sportlines... I think.... I am a noob with springs... never messed with them.. air bags yes... anyway. Will putting these spring on the stock strut and shocks harm anything?

"Lowering springs: These NOW come in linear and progressive springs. They are not adjustable, so what you put on is really what you get unless you wanna pay money to buy more stuff to try and adjust em. This, in an aftermarket sense, is the “low-cost” way of lowering a car. All it really involves is a change of springs, but strut change is also HIGHLY recommended. But sins there are no struts and shocks out for this car yet I would keep the drop to less then 1.5" front and back for both the SS and the base."

Why do you need to replace them?
Thanks
Nick

in short SS struts seem to last with dropped springs, however the baseline struts seem to give out more so than the others

Look into H&R springs, they lower the car a tad more than sportlines and sit the fenders just ontop of the tires. Ive had H&Rs in the car for 2 years and they were fine, I did blow the rear passenger strut out tho and have since changed to Koni Yellows. ( 2007 SS/SC ) for reference

on the box it said 1.4/1.6 F/R tire wear is normal, there is no camber issues as you dont need to adjust camber on the balts when lowered. just got an alignment and no problems over 2 years and 45,000 miles and counting.....

I've had the Eibach Pro-Kit for over a year now with no problems. Still feels the same as they did when I first installed them.

nope no irregular tread wear, usually get about two alignments a year, one in spring when the aftermarket wheels go on, and one again in the fall when the stockers go back on. other than that nothing.
Sukxost - which kit were you looking into? I had the H&Rs on stock struts up until this spring ( 2 years ) when I blew the rear passenger strut. Then I upgraded to koni yellows, ( and along with progress swaybar, and dc strutbar, and floorbrace and the tires ) this car handles like a BEAST.

Id say upgrade to koni yellows at the time of lowering or as soon as possible, night and day difference over stock struts.

so the koni yellows huh? do they maintain some ride quality? my sportlines are nice but to be honest the ride quality went away pretty quick and the road is bumpier than ever.
