Lowering Spring Vibration

I just lowered my car with H&R Springs and now I feel a vibration when I accelerate, especially between 20mph to 40mph. My mind is boggled because I dont understand what would cause vibration only during acceleration. I figured if it was an alignment issue, unbalanced tires, axles, and cv joints or any other issue that the vibration would occur all the time. I also have the top hats tabs facing the engine. Any thoughts on what could be the problem?

I was actually having the same problem after i lowered mine. Although not when i accelerate. It vibrated mostly when i was going 50-60, and HORRIBLY when i hit the brakes. I found it was the wheels out of balance. If you have another set of wheels laying around throw them on and you will know right away.

Hope this helped.

Wouldn't I have noticed an unbalanced wheel before I lowered it? Or is it more crucial to have everything balanced and aligned when your lowered?

That's a good question, and you most certainly would. How many miles have you put on the tires after the springs were installed? Also Did you get an alignment after the springs were installed?

Camber could be off causing wear on the inner part of the tire. Over time it will cause a pulseation effect.

But why is it only present when I accelerate? Wouldn't it be present all the time if it were?

Suspension alignment angles won't cause a vibration.

Lowering the car puts the CVs out of alignment, which can cause a vibration under acceleration.

So there is no fix except to put on springs that dont lower it as much?

What about reversed tranny mounts? I have heard these help driveline angles just enough to make the vibration go away. I'm lowered on sportlines and had an alignment after install and my tires are wearing on the outside.

you are not quite correct; if the top spring hats are misaligned it can cause vibration as the there is unwanted side load with cocked spring due to improper install.

x2. after you place the springs on the struts you must turn them so they are seated firmly in the boots

I believe they are seated correctly. I have the tab facing towards the engine.
