Lowering Springs

I am looking into getting some springs for the balt. My question tends to go with milage and age. I have 14000 on it and its an 06. I was told that sometimes a rust ring will form on the shocks from the weather and road conditions, and if you lower it the rust ring will break the seal on the shocks being that a different part of the shock is used. And intern making you buy new shocks. Anyone ever experienced or heard this?

Never heard of that before. It is hard to believe, seeing as the shocks compress/decompress over bumps anyway.

if you're lowering your car without aftermarket struts, the stockers will blow anyway...maybe not right away, but they will. Although there are quite a few people on here that think they're struts are indestrucible....lol

of course there are no aftermarket struts yet...lol

I have never really heard of that either. However the stock struts do wear out quicker with lowering springs.

That's new to me as well. lowering your car will def. lower the life of your shocks and struts though. As far as miles go...Mines an 07 and I am slightly over 7K already..lol

I have 12,100 mile on mine and it's 4 months old. It's a great car but it's not worth enough to save and keep low miles. I just love driving the **** out of it!
