Lowering springs?
Lowering springs?
For the Cobalt Sc/SS what is the lowest spring setup people have been seeing or have from experince? Front and Rear. After reading on the forum seems like alots of people are saying different things about the same springs? I am just trying to clear things up for myself andeveryone who have not gotten lowering spring and are looking to purchasing them.
Buying springs is a waste of money. It is a lot cheaper and easier to maintain factory ride quality by cutting the front springs and heating up and shrinking the rear springs. That is what I will be doing as soon as I have a few spare hours at the shop. Then you can drop your car as much as you want.
No I am not kidding, If you cut one coil off of the front springs it will drop the front end about 3/4- 1 inch. IT sounds crazy to some, but to those of us who do this sort of stuff professionaly it works.

I know guys have been doing the "heat red hot and sag" thing to springs for years. Doesn't that make the springs softer, when you take the temper out? Might work well as long as they don't get too soft.
I've never tried this, more info?
Also, when you heat & sag, how do you control how much they sag?
