Lowering Springs Comparison

It's not entertaining it's a gigantic pita. It was due 100% to complaints from members about Pedders and requests from members on here that we produced a better spring for cobalts. Made in the USA. I have tried Eibachs the ride and performance on track was not as good as stock. The spring rate is less so that's not a big surprise. Enjoy what you have.

I am on CM springs and the ride is amazingly stockish. LOVE THEM but i hate that they are 26.25 in the rear and 25.75 in the front on 225 40 18's
The only thing I can come to conclude after reading all this is my springs are one of the best DD springs and have a nice balance of ride and performance. If I want to get lower on springs they have to ride like crap. I want v.2 yyz because they are the most engineered for our cars but would ride the same height as my CM's.
Anyone cut the rear buckets out and lower them an inch to maintain ride quality but keep a larger spring. Also moving the shock mounts up an inch gains the suspension movement back.

dude if you want to go lower, there's only one way. It's coils or nothing. Don't half ass start welding and cutting ****, it'll never be as good as you want it to. Just get coils and as uncomfortable as some may be, the handling kicks ass and being low is cooler because you know; stance makes her dance.

also i have welded and built my own suspensions on several trucks and jeeps. I would do it right not a hack job. But we shall see. Maybe I will be the first. I come from forums where fabrication is part of the fun. Everyone here seems to want off the shelf stuff. No takes the time to make something just want to bolt and go. Sad really. There is a whole world opened up of modding when you make stuff yourself. Would like to hear Powell on this. I am sure he has already looked into this.

Sometimes I wish I got H&R's instead.

i thought about it but then you are in the same boat. H&R wont allow the suspension in the rear to work as it should and will not drive or perform as well. It will look good but you wont have the proper geometry for driving and just overall ride quality. I think modding the rear buckets or spindles is the way to go. The fronts are easy just shorter springs and you should still be fine for travel.
