Lowering your car?

Ok so I just got 18 Enkei EKM3's. I havent gotten them in yet so I dunno if they look really bad on my car without lowering. My question is whats a good lowering kit? I dont wanna drop it too far cause I work in Boston and there is a **** ton of potholes all over the place and I dont wanna **** anything up on my car, thanks!
