lowest drop for an LT??

maybe i'm just used to the minitruck world where you can get a 5-6" drop kit....but the most drastic drop I've been able to find so far for the cobalt LT is a 2/2.5" from the eibach sport kit.....is there a set of springs available that take it to at least 3"

Thanks for any help...

Won't a set of SSSCs go lower? Not the stock SC springs, but those aftermarket ones for the SC that look like SSSC (?)

look at tenzo's, sportlines, cobalt addiction, and progress.... those will prob give you the biggest drop on a cobalt. i think the tenzo's get you closest to 3"

but if you slam your car that much, you better look into updating your shocks and struts. and if you are gonna spend that kind of money you might as well go with coilovers or airbags

i was never a fan of coilovers....and the airbags go on my minitruck...not my car...

im already well aware of the things i will have to upgrade with a drop of that magnitude....not to mention any camber correction that will have to be done...

the only issue is acutally finding a set that will drop me that far...

unfortunately i dont think i will be able to find one
so it looks like the eibachs for me

There aren't any springs just for the SS/SC. All aftermarket Cobalt springs will fit all models of Cobalts. The only reason some manufactuers list the LT/LS seperately from the SS and SS/SC is b/c the LS/LT stock springs are taller than the SS and SS/SC stock springs, therefore, an aftermarket lowering spring will lower the LS/LT more over stock, but if both an LS/LT and an SS / SS/SC are equipped with the same lowering springs, they will be equally low. Its just b/c the SS and SS/SC have shorter springs from the factory.

On a side note, if you want LOW, then you might as well just bag it. Otherwise, you'll either have to spend money on coilovers or springs + struts, which will likely be nearly as expensive, and you won't be as low as what I think your aiming for.

The Stock SS/SC springs will lower the car about 1 inch give or take a little! The reason there isn't any huge drops with car (besides using bags) is turning radius and the fact that our exhaust routes over the rear axle if you lower that your exhaust will hit everytime you hit a bump! I know of a guy personally who lowered his car with sportlines and with 3" exhaust heavy bumps "CLANG" from the exhaust!

But for the money the Sportlines/ Sprint Springs offer the lowest drops of 2" or more!

Dude believe me, I have the Tenzo's and they are already PLENTY low enough. If i were a half inch lower i wouldnt be able to get out of my apartment parking lot...and about an inch and a half more my exhaust would be sitting on the ground.

so moral of the story...5-6 inches and you are going to be FUCKED.

stock springs will give you .5" in the front and about .75-1" in the back... basically all its gonna do is level out the ass of your car.

Also, the rear has settled a bit more then what is showed in that pic, id say maybe a half inch or so. Let me know if you need anymore pics

Damn! I have the 40 series and i was going to go to 45 next time just cause the tires are a little too skinny to fill the entire wheel well. So if the 50 series fits perfect thats what im gonna go with.
