Unhappy my dad won't let me get my balt dropped :(

ok so i have a black balt, and these wheels would look so sick on it. but ok my parents are divorced, my mom lives in a city and my dad lives in the well...woods. so ok, my dad is like the president of a local dealership and he claims that getting my car lowered (with eibach sportlines) would void my warranty and would be a mistake. idk if he is right or not. but ok like i wanna get wheels and sportlines, but when i go to my dads and have to drive on gravel and a small hill, ooh its gonna be bad. ehh what do i do?

nothing actually voids you warranty. they have to prove that your modification caused the issue. just keep it in your mind that if something breaks with the suspension, its coming out of your pocket. you pay to play.

i believe new springs will void your suspension warrenty. But they have to show that your springs caused whatever problem occured. I also want sportlines on my TC but my problem is practicality. My driveway has a rather large lip to get into it. I already have to take it on a sharp angle with my stock TC springs. Anylower I would have to back up into my driveway. Plus my job has several large pot holes and i have already rubbed the front lip more then once. Im gonna hold off on them b4 i rip the front lip off my car. then thats a $315 piece.

Id say if your going through woods hold off

ok techniqually the dealership can try to void ur warranty but all u say is prove to me how lowering my car caused watever the warranty issue is or im taking u to court. they tend to change their minds than.lol

That's probably the main reason his Dad desn't want him to lower his car...he lives in the woods...

if you want a lowered car get a station wagon, and throw a moose in the back, your dad wont mind that by the sounds of it.

It will only void the warranty towards your suspension components if anything were to fail. They cant void your entire warranty due to lowering your car. But if your shocks blow dont go looking for them to replace them.

Mine are running strong and Ive had my Sportlines on for about 30k but I don't expect them to last forever. Thats why coilovers will be near future investment.

What should you do?

But your own car that way your parents can't hold it over your head and tell you what you can and can't do with it. I bought my first car when I was 16 and modded the hell out of it.....my parents didnt care, but even if they did, they couldn't have done anything about it b/c it was mine.

Not trying to sound like a dick. Just saying.
