What type of SS are you running?

LS/LT run the FE1 shocks struts
SS/NA (Sport) runs the FE3 shocks/struts
SS/TC - SC run th FE5 shock struts.

I've heard if you're not trying to go aftermarket with the ride quality, upgrading from anything to the FE5 for stock ride quality. I ordered SSC springs and when my FE3's go out, I'm reordering the FE5 from CrateEngine Depot. Once I do that, Ill be upgrading from gms0 to gms1 and eventually into gms2 when I boost it.

That's what I take from the people on here helping me with selecting my suspension upgrades.

KYB are the OEM replacements at best (GR-2's)

KONI will be an upgrade.

My honest opinion I would not put any drop spring on any of our struts other then pedders, Now I will get others who disagree, but when you put a spring, especially a drastic dropspring like sportlines for example, your putting your strut under stress/load since it was not made for it, thus killing the strut sooner as well as the strut mount(ask me how I know ). I dont know anything about the koni's but why not spend the money once, get the fe5s with pedders or fe5 springs.....just my 2cents.

I just recently bought an FE5 (strut) set from CrateEngineDepot.com for around 195.00 shipped and put FE5 springs (bought used in like new condition from another member for $60 shipped) on as well.

07BoostedG5 made a good point that most people fail to think about or even realize. If you put lowering springs on struts that are specifically designed to work at stock height, you are essentially damaging your struts and they will wear out quickly. I had the Eibach Pro-Kit Springs (installed and only used for around 20,000 miles mostly highway) but they don't lower an SS near as much as the Eibach Sportline set does. Anyways I had my original set of front struts last me till around 68000 miles so regardless I would have more than likely been changing the struts soon anyways had I changed springs or not. If I had used springs like the Eibach Sportline set I would have needed struts sooner than I did. Like I first mentioned, our struts have a certain operating range. When you drastically change the height of your car, you are taking them out of that range which damages them quicker.

I would suggest you use the KYB struts simply because they are adjustable if I'm not mistaken.

Your right, kyb's aren't adjustable. I was thinking of the Koni Yellows that are adjustable. My fault...

Just dampening.

I went with the Sportline / Koni combo and my koni's didnt last that long. i have about 90,000 miles on them and they are done. If i was to do it again (which is going to happen shortly) Ill be going with the Pedder / FE5 setup.
