What's the cheapest option besides junkyard to get the oem parts needed the dealer quoted for suspension? The dealer charging over 2k in parts and labor.

i would take it to an independent shop to have it looked at, dont tell them you had it elsewhere for an estimate already.

i can take some guesses from the list

-front control arms- gm services them as an assembly, id take a wild guess and say its just the rear bushings that are bad. Moog makes rear bushings, there are also options for performance bushings (powell motorsports)
-shocks and struts- likely just worn out. you can order the ss turbo struts from crateenginedepot.com, thats your best bet for a quality replacement
-outer tie rods- likely just have play, moog will be a quality replacement
-wheel hub- bearing likely has play, skf bearings/hubs are a good replacement.

you dont need to put oem parts in the car, there are quality parts in the aftermarket for these cars. if you insist on oem, use Crate Engine Depot - Chevrolet Performance Parts and Engines, they are a gm dealer and sell oem stuff at good prices.

Sharkey has some good advice here. How many miles are on the car? Are you planning on keeping it for awhile, and what kind of funds do you have available?

im kind of in the same situation, i just bought an 07 balt, and i want to go back to stock/stock type springs and struts, as the previous owner has the car lowered, and i don't want that. contemplating going to the junkyard, or wondering if there is a better alternative. On this, i do not want to break the bank. Im going to assume the struts and springs on eBay aint no good?

Ohh gotcha in that case you probably dont care about the height of the car. Those should work fine. And no problem

yes and no.. thats kinda the problem now... the car is too low with squishy suspension allowing the car to bang the ground pretty easy. 200 laps on the track with that would tear the car up. I'm actually trying to get a little suspension and travel under it
