I have the same setup too, but I went with drilled and slotted for the look. I have 80,000 miles on them, and it's time to replace them. It's a nice upgrade over stock, and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

One thing, I think you may have the rotors on the wrong side. From what I've been told, the slots are supposed to move outward as the car moves forward.

Doesn't matter what way the slots are going, matters what way the vanes are going

Can someone help me out. I bought the matching rear rotors and pads for my car. Go to put them on one side they are so tight the rotor wont spin and yes i made sure the ebrake isint on lol. Are the ss sc rear rotors bigger then the G5 GT rears?

Now on the other side the part of the caliber that holds the pads on there are 2 screws then they have these little black rubber covers over them, they should spin and go in and out. well one of mine is frozen and i cant get it to move.

I believe you are referring to a Caliper Slide Pin and yes, it is common for that to happen, especially if they are not maintained often. They can also result in poor braking performance and low pedal applications.

Try smacking it around some with a hammer to try and loosen up the slide. Soak it religiously with PB blaster and try to pry it with vice grips. If all else fails, grab the torch. You may have to buy new caliper slides.

Are you in a snowy climate?

Taking a torch to it now. This thing is not moving. I do live where it snows but Ibdont drive the carbon the winter. Also one side the tire is really right it takes a lot to get it to spin. Is that normal?

so i figured out why my rear passenger side rim was always getting so dirty and why my brake pad was pretty much just the metal backing to the pad. My ebrake is stuck... I tried disconnect it from the caliber but i cant get it to release. Looks like im going to have to bring it into the dealer sine they are the ones the touched it last.

Now don't quote me on this, but judging from the design of e-brake these cars use, that might mean new calipers. I'm interested to find out what they tell you.

Needs a new caliber. They are replacing it for free because they replaced that one last summer and now it's broke again. I'm dropping it off Monday then walking to work. It's only down the road.

For some reason, one of my rear brakes was really tight too. It was just tight enough that it was a bit hard to turn the wheel by hand, but once or twice around the block wore the pads/rotor enough that it was free spinning.

I didn't have any problems with the e-brakes, so I can't offer any advice there.

You should have removed the pins (they'll pull right out of the rubber boots), put lots of brake grease on them, and then re-install. Good luck with the one that's stuck... you might need a new caliper.

Sounds like there is air in the brake lines. When I did mine, the braking went from good to incredible.

I called my dealer and Im taking the car in on tuesday. I wont have time to mess around with it since im working all week then taking the car on a 3 hours drive to go camping. Should i have them flush the brake lines and put all new fluid in it? car has 81k on it.

I wouldn't. It's easy enough to do yourself if you have someone helping you by pumping the brakes. If you have money to burn, have the dealer do it.

You don't even need that. Get a piece of vacuum line to fit over your bleeders, string it into a jar and submerge in brake fluid, open the bleeder up and pump away. You wouldn't believe the contamination that comes out.

I took it in to the dealer yesterday and they couldn't find the problem. I told them when im getting off the highway and my front rotors are smoking there is a problem. They had to order a belt for it so they said once the belt comes in they will look at the brakes again. I'm going to bring the car over to my uncles house and look at it there after work to see whats going on. Its taking longer to stop I need to press harder on the pedal to get it to stop and if im going about 80mph then start braking to get off the highway my fronts will start smoking by the time im at the end of the ramp. Never had this issue before. So me and my uncle will bleed the system and see if that does anything.
