Noise coming from spring
^This is true. I had the CA#1 springs on upside down at first. Sounded awful. Flipped them around. Perfect! Not hard at all to do yourself.
i would do it myself if i had the tools 2 do it with, im prob gunna either go 2 my friend who has all the tools needed or just call back the guy who installed them, cant do it until around the 14th tho since i work 2 jobs and will be away on vacation... is it bad for the car if i drive it like that for the time being?
It's not bad, but it's recommended to stay away from large bumps get the car into to those people when you get a chance. Actually came to thought about it, the back springs removal is a piece of cake and much easier than it seems and much easier than front so I'd suggest trying it yourself after doing a little search on the forum on spring removal.
ok so i read up on how to do the back springs, i can deff do it myself only prob is i dont have jack stands would it be safe to do one side at a time on the jack that is given with the car?
ok so me and my friend just fix the problem with my rears springs. No more noise and it rides much better, wish i did the back springs myself 2 begin with was rlly easy. Thanks everyone for the help
the fronts are a little more complicated and more time consuming, but still simple.
glad you got it fixed.
Nice dude. Glad your car is all good now. It sucks because there is no way to visually tell what end is the "top" of the rear spring until it is compressed...unless you've done many cobalts before...
all of the springs i've done always have writing, or a company logo or something. if they didn't, it would be hard to tell though.
Very true.
Ya there was nothing to tell top and bottom on the springs.
Hmmm. Good call on the logo. Unfortunately mine didn't have anything. This might be the case with a few "smaller" brand names not printing anything. I was hoping to see the rate or brand name or at least something on them...but...yeah...I guess live and learn. But it makes it that much more rewarding when you don't bring it to a shop and fix it yourself. When you've got bloody knuckles from workin' on the balt, its a sign of a weekend well spent
