Pedal play and Handbrake

I've been noticing my brake pedal seems to be mushy, but the brake power doesn't seem to be affected, just have to press down a bit more.

Also, I was rotating my tires yesterday, jacked up the car, and noticed that my left rear wheel was spinning even with the handbrake applied.

Anyone had this problem with their 09's? I know people have had rear brake problems, was just wondering if there's anything I can do before I take it to the stealership and have them look at it.

Take it in. Either a cable or caliper issue.
