Pedders Coilovers
And they offer dick worth adjustments not to mention poor rear rates on all the coilovers. Almost everyone on here wont even use the adjusments let alone know what they even do haha. Sorry none of the coilovers are worth it if the rear rates are less then the fronts and delta owners are to cheap to pay for the only decent coilover which is the kw variant 2
I will track my car which is why I'm looking for the best setup. I didn't jump in her like "let meh get my springs cut" lol. And everyone is just passionate about their setup. But, if what you say is true and the valving is better on the FE5's then that is something to be considered. I am not too cheap to pay for the parts if they are quality, I don't think just because they are more expensive that they are better and I will set it up and do know how.
Not flaming you, I aint even mad son (joke) I just want to clear up my stance (no pun intended) as the OP. I'm not dropping 6k on Ohlins but I'm prepared to spend if there is a superior product.
look im going to say it to you like this....the 08-10 cobalts still hold the record for the fastest front hweel drive cars around the nuremburg track in germany..i think that says something for a bone stock car. ill lay it out for you with your options...... people still dont understand that the whole strut suspension assembly is different in the lnf cars vs lsj and base models... 33mm sway bar up front from the old 32mm(not a big difference), shorter knuckles, way superior struts, superior axles, mounts, etc etc when you compare to the older cars... something that people odnt realize...eibach sportlines and pro kit, h&r race and sport kits, tenzo zenn or other junk ebay springs, stance, megan, hsd(stance), ksport were all tested on the older cars. almost all cobalt suspension parts are interchangable so most companies figure why on earth should we re-map our products and the chassis is dead in a year so who cares? well basically theres been one spring to come out since the lnf pedders.... then stance(tested on an lsj...i know because stance is local to me) and peddres coilovers..
heres the way i look at it....you can spend 1k+ on coilovers...if it were me buying coilovers because i want to get low(this is what i had) they are better then the pedders...only negative complaint is the adjustment knobs are on the bottom. pedders basically just throws their lowering spring on a coilover....stupid. the problem with almost all of the coilovers out are they are cheap pieces of crap...hense k sport and megan etc etc....stance and pedders would be your best bet if you want to get low and get ok handling but you still have room for improvement...if you want to spend a little more money the best coilovers you cant buy without spending 6k+ on anze ohlins or penske are kw variant 2's. pricey though
your other option....springs and struts.... wangspeed proved the pedders can coilbind ON KONI STRUTS....i havent seen someone getting them to bind on the fe5 struts. you spend roughly 400 bucks on pedders maybe? they have really good rates for the stock car..sure they dont slam you down low but you get an ok drop after they settle. they are better on the konis but the konis are a little too much for the pedders. ive had just about every spring on my car to fool around with, and have driven cars with all the coilovers.... i had stances personally and i moved back to pedders on the fe5 struts.. its a bang for your buck kind of deal but as of right now its the best option you can get....combine that with a powell race shop hardcore bar, a good set of tires and its a golden combo. espeically if your on the track a lot
none the less. people can tend to debate all this and do whatever they want but i dont care. ive been through it felt the car etc etc...the guy that builds team corvettes gt1 race cars and built the time attack cobalt speaks n a lot of it too....runs the setup is his ion redline....maven runs the same combo(another good driver) etc etc.
im tired of everyone thinking because you spend 1k on coilovers they are automatically better...false statement. its just like all these people buying hawk pads.....downgrade from stock believe it or not...hawk has nothing out right now that really compares to the stock ferodo hp1000s. the only plus about the hawks are they are cleaner but the ferodos are better

stopped at the beginning of the huge post when you said the ss/tc holds the fwd production car record in the nurburgring. the Renault Megane RS R26.R actually does with a time of 8:16.90. look it up...
cobalt is pretty good in stock form nonetheless

The pedders bind on the stock FE5 struts too. I have 2 sets of front Pedder springs that have the marks on them from coil bind where they've worn out the powder coating. One set of front Pedders from stock FE5, and one from the Konis. Konis will not cause coil bind. I have no idea where you get that idea from.

not trying to sway opinions here but dont think because pedders makes awesome springs their coilovers are automatically awesome...they are no better then the stances..... i had stances over the pedders because they perform equally and stances are less money by a couple hundred...
