Pedders Problem... I think

Hey guys so i am currently running pedders springs and ss/st struts on my 06 ss/sc. ive had them for about 2 years now and there great.

the end of last summer got some new rims w/ 235/40/18 Nitto NT05s, many members on here told me that this would be fine and i wouldnt rub.... well the passenger side rear seems to be bottoming out every time i hit a bump the fender is taking huge chunks outta the side wall to the point where im gonna have to replace that side before i put these rims back on.

My question is why is this happening on only 1 side i installed the springs/ struts myself i usually do all of my own work. I had my friend who is a mechanic look at them and we cant find anything wrong with the spring or strut. So why am i bottoming out on the passenger side but not the driver?

my plan is to just roll the rear fenders and call it a day but thats only a band-aid to the problem

any help is appreciated thank you

Haha been there. Konis fixed it 100%. The TC rears are a little soft for Pedders

That's my thought as well. It's not entirely unplausable for the passenger side struts to go out faster, as that side of the road is usually much rougher, filled with more potholes.

The Cobalt is not square to body off the twisting beam to the front /chassis center line. Its a production car, remember the last gen Camaro's were off about .5 inch or more!

change shocks as recommended, and if you really want to be perfect, square the car in a 4 wheel alignment, loosen the twb attachment bolts and do it right.

this is the triangular 3 bolt attachment plate. The trick pivot bushings and mod'd beam are another genuine Powell hardcore race part....

I've always wondered if you could sell hardcore bushings for the rear beam. Is this comparable to a time attack piece?

yes better and less money to make and work, and can resist all sorts of weather that the time attack car could not....

My passenger side rear has always sat just a little higher than the driver side, never knew why but i'm glad it isn't something with the car other than a production thing.

the bushing kit for the twisting beam replaces the stock bushing. Removing the old bushing is a pita. Inserting new is ez. How to with every kit, we know how to make it easy lol

available at the end of this month we got too many orders to get out for other things to deal with this right now, and the first six sets are going out to racers....
