Progress springs + TC struts

Is anyone running this combo? Does anyone know how the spring rate of the Progress springs match up with the damping of the TC struts? I already have Progress springs. I'm just trying to decide whether to invest in TC struts (my stock SC FE5's are toast!) or save up and get coilovers.

I thought about that too, but I don't really want to buy another set of springs. That and it seems to take forever to get Pedders delivered to your door from what I've heard.

Does anyone know how the spring rates compare between Progress and Pedders?

night and day lol. pedders have a higher spring rate. progress springs on tc struts still make it handle like crap.

This is apparently the "cat's ass" suspension setup right now. A lot of SS/SC owners are switching to TC struts because they have different valving. I think they have 30% more damping? Don't quote me on that! lol

sound sweet. if i recall from when i heard about this before, they only have a modest drop right? roads in pa suck so im more into the suspension actually working than being really low.

They don't drop as much as other springs and more importantly, they don't coil bind.

Yeah it's a modest drop in the rear but the fronts look like all other springs dropwise

basically from my research this is what i have found to be the best setup on a budget.

ss/tc struts
pedders springs
fe5 front sway bar
ottp 1" or 1.25" rear sway bar(1" for street and some track use, 1.25" for a more experianced driver)
powergrid sway bar endlinks
powell control arm bushings

if you wanna spend some cash go for stance coilovers. and if your a real baller ohlins or anze

the only springs that have worthy rates for stock fe5 struts are eibach pro kit and pedders. thats it. all others make the car handle worse but make it look a lot better.

the big difference between the pedders and eibachs is the pedders drop the whole car more were as the pro kit only drops it like .5" in the rear.

smells like BS the sportlines do not make a base model balt handle worse..it greatly improves it.

thanks for that i actually redid my post to make the statement correct. on stock fe5(lnf) struts all springs other then eibach pro kit or pedders make it handle worse.

well then take it from someone thats had both h&r and eibach sportlines on my car and have had them both on a road coarse. both make the car handle worse then stock. the h&r springs are worse then the sportlines but believe me they both make the car handle worse. thats mainly why i went to coilovers

I believe even the pro kit isn't much if at all an improvement over the stock springs the other ones that are an improvement other than pedders are T3's but they are super stiff no good for most dd cars

the prokit if you ask me is a waste of money. doesnt lower the car at all really. its not noticeable at all. and your right the handeling is not much better what so ever.

Stance seems like a high quality product...In the end its coilovers /thread...

Lot's of people rave on about the pedders but i have been given this info from people who know people...never the actual driver..with that said i would not be surprised to see many Pedder fs threads with in a year or so...unless all the hype is true...

well the pedders springs on tc struts is honestly your best bang for the buck. it handles great with that combination. i race atleast once a month so i want the adjustments that you cant have on the stock setup.

as far as the pedders xa coilovers....idk i heard they use progressive springs which is basically the same as any lowering spring. to me thats pointless. the stances use a linear spring and are from what ive seen and have had so far they are high quality.
