Question for ABS

For the 06 SS/SC with LSD package. Is the ABS 2 or 4 wheels? I will be doing autocross sometimes in the future and for the hairpin i don't want to have the e-brake pulled with the abs going on... so yea basically will the rear wheels lock up or will the abs become active

All Cobalts with ABS have a 4 channel system. Either remove the fuse, or wire in a cut out switch/relay.

The fuse box and your Owners Manual will both have call outs for the fuse location

Well from the sounds of it you need to yank your own lazy fuse and get the f off the computer and do some crunches.

fuese are located on the right hand side of the center console, behind the lower kick pannel, and also under the hood. Not sure where the ABS fuse is tho...

The fuse block is under the hood on the drivers side, when you open it up youll see a groups of SQUARE colored fuses with clear tops on one of the box. You want to pull the 50A one, its the only 50A fuse in the whole box. if you look at the lid, it will be labeled as the "ABS" fuse

Not something about ABS, just a comment on disabling it for autox.

Disabling the ABS doesn't 100% yield better times. In addition to how well you can drive, it also highly depend on course condition, track layout and more importantly the tolerance of the ABS on your specific car. In uncertain conditions, veteran drivers will always use their 2 first runs (in a 4~6 run day) to see how the car reacts to the course with and without ABS, and sometimes ABS in certain conditions will yield faster lap times.

While Autox is mostly about precision driving, at the end of the day strategy also plays a important role. Remember you sole objective is to finish the course as fast as you can, and you can basically do whatever you want within the rules. Experiment as much as you can with the cars allowable settings and your driving style.

Have fun.
