Quick Question about how I put my brakes back on

Today I took off my calipers and caliper brackets so I could paint them.

Everything is back together, but I just wanted to make sure I did everything right.

There shouldn't have been anything that complicated right? Just bolt back on and torque. One of the caliper guide pin/bushing fell out, and I fit the bushing back in.

I should be good right? Everything seemed very easy once I go the hang of it, I just want to make sure that's normal.

If the dont shake or grind and the disc spins freely between the pads you should be good.

As long as there are no extra parts and everything's tight but not too tight.

Wow, I'm really good then. Screw engineering, I'm going to be a mechanic.

jk

I did notice that the pads don't have like a spring-return mechanism. Like after they get pressed onto the rotors, there is nothing to force the pads back away from them. I'm assuming its normal, because it doesn't seem like anything is missing or broken, but it just strikes me as odd.

the seal that goes around the piston is a square cut seal. When the piston gets pushed out by the brake fluid, the seal deforms slightly under the pressure. when you release the pedal, the seal actually pushes the piston back just slightly.
I don't know much about engineering, but i'm a mechanic. lol
