Rack Spacers.
I installed sportlines and Fe5 struts, when I turn at a stand still or low speed theres a small clunking, Ive read tons of threads on here saying rack spacers didnt get rid of the clunking but returns your steering to the right height. In all honestly idc about the clunking, all I want to know is if its ok to drive like this. Or do I need rack spacers?
Just at a stand still, no noise going down the road. its not really a clunk I can just hear something. And I installed the springs right side up where you can read the Eibach logo just like they said in the directions. the struts can really only go in one way. The sound is in the middle of the car towards the drivers side a little, thats why I think its in the steering. Ive had 4 people tell me theres does this to. I just dont want to break anything and if I have to get spacers I will. I appreciate your help,

Without my spacers my steering doesnt make noise, with them it clunks around when going over bumps and ****. Real easy to install tho, I think im gonna shave mine down to 3/8", there 1/2" right now.
you most likely need new sway bar endlinks, mine made the clunk until i put Moog endlinks on when i did my Eibach's because theyre much stronger and grease-able compared to the stock links, and i also put OTTP rack spacers on too and that helped eliminate potential bump steer. she runs nice now...
ya the spacers are for aligning the steering rack for your lower suspension. they arent going to solve a clunk that now occurs after you lower it. There is something else going on. Either they were not installed 100%, like a torq issue, spring is not seated right. Or you have a bad end link, sway bar bushing, cab. something...
you cannot install rack spacers on a 2.2 auto, theres no room for the rack to go up, was just undermy car yesteray to check it out, and as far as i know ottp, or powell does not make rotated mounts for the autos
Yea Im thinking its bushings, its a hard sound to describe. Its basically like a rock thats stuck under a tire while your turning on hard pavement. lol Ill just deal with it.
