Random clunk in suspension

So I have some random clunking noise that happens when I do a big turn or at times it also does it when im braking at low speeds. If i have the car at a full stop with brakes pressed and slowly start to let off the brakes and accelerate it'll do it as well. Confused as what it could be. Started after I did an engine swap on the car and bolted everything back up. Endlinks not tightened down enough? They are new moog endlinks. Lowered on CM springs if that makes a difference..oh and the noise seems to be coming from the passenger side

Recheck that all the control arm bolts are torqued to spec.

What engine is in it now?

Stock 2.4 engine lol. I had a small accident.....my wastegate told me to go to hell and didn't open. Hit a nice 40psi and cracked the block lol.

What is torque spec for control arm bolts? I went vin diesel meme on it and said tight is tight

yes, what is it? And is it OK if we may have re-installed the bolt the opposite direction it came?

Yeah the leading bolts are only 41 ft lbs and I've snapped them by going to far without realizing it.

Where did you do the engine swap and what turbo are you on, looking to swap in a 06-07 2.4 since it's a direct swap for a LAP.

I did the engine swap at home. I'm on the 252et. Been trying to figure out an overboosting issue i'm having. Car doesn't seem to want to run spring pressure even when I delete boost controller and just have 1 line from manifold going to bottom nipple on wg. Have tried 3 different springs and 2 different wastegates. Might have figured it out finally today but it's only doing 8psi on a 11.6 spring. Will test out different springs with how I have the lines routed at the moment. lol 8psi is not enough for me

What tools do you have at home that you were able to do the entire swap? Want me to take this to PM?

So happy I have the wastegate on the turbo and replaced the canister (EFR 6758) when I installed mine.

Is it possible you're loosing that much PSI through the intercooler or have a boost leak you're not noticing?

This thread is fine. I get annoyed of all the emails from the PM's lmao.

I don't think it's a leak because if I swap the vacuum lines around to how they're supposed to be to only run spring pressure it boosts too high. Like in I have either a 8.7psi spring or a 11.6 spring and the car will easily boost over 14lbs.

I have a cherry picker, a jack, regular hand tools. lol And a torque wrench

Both wastegates are Tial MV-S.

I have tried 8.7 psi, 11.6 psi, and 13some psi springs.

Asking because this happened to me, you have the firing pen in correctly?

ummm....lol Not sure what that is

When i boosted over 40 psi I believe it was because the whole time I had been running spring pressure and finally got a smaller spring so I installed it and plugged the top plug on the wastegate with a bolt. Pretty sure that didn't let it open.

Have gotten actual plugs from tial since then lol

Lol

Yea when I first installed the precision 46mm, I realized later that there are actually 3 holes, 2 on the bottom 1 on top and had one open in the back the whole time. The second noob mistake I made was I forgot/didn't realize that the firing pin (like a small cylinder sleeve) wasn't in the wastegate, it goes basically between the top of the manifold wastegate flange and the bottom of the wastegate - actually inside the bottom underneath the plunger.

oh the little metal circle that goes between manifold and wastegate? Figured that was some sort of gasket. or do you mean the diaphram inside the wastegate? the thing that goes up and down lol. Well yeah both are in there for mine. My wastegate has 3 holes on the sides for air, 1 on top/side, and one on the top of the wastegate which according to hallman mbc instructions is supposed to stay unplugged.

Yea that metal circle thing is the firing pin, and the diaphram thing is the plunger I guess. I'm not sure on the holes as far as plugging and with the hallman mbc though.

I'm not sure either but it seems to run "spring pressure" when I have it backwards as what it says in their instructions lmao.

Lol is the hallman a bleeder or ball n spring type ect? That alone will dictate how the lines are supposed to be ran. Do the mbc instructions contradict the wastegate instructions?

the hallman is the ball and spring. It's the hallman mbc pro with the cockpit thing.
I believe the way I have it right now is like this except the top nipple on the wastegate is going to manifold. When I would leave top nipple unplugged it would overboost. Even when doing bottom nipple to manifold how it says it would do over spring pressure

it's an option for it but not needed. I don't have those nipples coming out of the water ports.
