Rear Axle

own a 2005 base with 4 lug...looking to convert to 5 lug

front is all set, have parts ready to install

little confused as to the rear axle

what are the complication to keeping the same axle, is there a bolt available, pull out the drum system and go with rotors

or is it best to change to an SS axle

scrap yards are asking $485 for a used axle

Youll have better wheel options with the 4 lug. But I'm guessing you want that big drum out of the way.

You should be going to 5x114.3, not 5x110

Talk to "Fusion" he sells only Cobalt SS parts. I got my knuckle for almost nothing and he threw in overnight shipping.

I know that a rear axle would weigh a little bit more but it'd be worth looking into.

Still dont understand why people want to do this...

Side note, didnt the 08+LS have 5 lug, if your current deal falls through you could always see about picking up one of them.

Dont know about others...but for me, mags i want are not offered in 4 lugs, also just another step in completing the long list of things on my mod list, powder coating a long list of parts found under the car

no longer a daily driver

my other cobalt, daily driver in the summer month
