Recently lowered and have an intriguing problem
After thread searching for a couple hours and not finding anything similar to what I am experiencing, I figured I would ask a few of the suspension guru's out there what this problem might be.
recently lowered my '06 SS/SC on sportlines.
Lined up everything properly when I was putting it all back together, torqued all bolts correctly, rebalanced the wheels afterwards and got an alignment.
Even retorqued the lug nuts again after 30 miles.
Here's the problem: low speed, full turns to the left or the right will result in the steering wheel shaking. The shaking goes away once the car is straightened, and does not occur during high speed turns. This is the only time I feel the wheel shake at all. Any other time the car rides perfectly.
I've already verified there is clearance, and there is zero rubbing on the inner fenderwells. Haven't had any problems with the bumpstops (although I saw no point in shaving them down, and find it hard to believe that act of rebellion would have an effect on the shake during a turn).
Any ideas?

A lot of people have had this problem when putting on lowering springs. From what I remember, the direction in which the coils in the springs lined up has to do a lot with it. They may not be lines up perfect on the top of the strut. Slight vibrations are normal with springs, but it shouldn't be noticeable at all unless you are really concentrating on feeling it. So this problem could be something else.
hmm. I know we lined up the springs on both the bottom and the top. Maybe not lining them up exactly is the cause of the shake?
I'd hate to have to keep taking them off and re-adjusting the spring in the strut frame until I get the ride right.

Let me try and find that thread to help you out.
Here you go. Hope it helps you out.

Well I finally had time to lift the car. Driver side tab is off 45 degrees and the passenger side tab is off by about 60 degrees.
So looks like I get to yank everything off this weekend and get them aimed right.
