rotors

I was looking at my brakes and the pads are still pretty good but my rotors are pretty ground down i can feel a nice size lip around the out side of the rotor i was wondering if anyone had to change their rotors already and when did you do it about how many miles?

Check out the "vendor special section" we have EBC rotors on a VERY good sale right now. They are top quality.

If you don't track and it's your daily driver I'd say go with the autozone front rotors and a decent set of ceramic pads...lasts a LONG time. You can do the whole set for about 100 bucks maybe...40 for the rotors and 30-40 for the pads and take the extra 20 change it into 1's and go to the strip club! Mmmm strippers.

I wore out the rears too... Had to track down the brembo oems...I believe they are brembo...have been on for 2 years no problems when I switched to ceramic instead of carbon metallic...no dust at all.

I replaced mine at about 3500 miles & went with create engine depot's drilled & slotted rotors, with stock pads from the same vender & it stops great & after a trip to florida & 2000 miles there all good with no wear at all.

The stock rotors were wore out & had about a 1/4" lip around the outter edge, the shoes were almost to the metal I still have alot of shoe & rotor on the backs but next year I'll get the drilled & slitted rotors for the rear.

I was looking at Auto zone but I feel you get what you pay for & I want my brakes to last & stop as I added mods for speed so why go cheap on stopping just my .02$

is there alot of brake dust with that setup? I am looking to minimize dust too.

I have the ebay rotors and pads and so far so good. I have had them for about 3000 miles now and no problems. Seller was rotoworks. The way I looked at it, the rotors and pads were so cheap, if I had any problems, I was not out much money.

I'd stick with wagner products if you're looking for stock replacements. If you're lookin for DIMPLED and/or slotted I would check out the vendors on here they have some good deals...

What are the best rotors/pads for daily driving use, but occasional track use aka 1/4mile track not auto crossing. I generally get on my brakes more instead of down shifting and saving gas, I don't know why, but I just brake hard. In doing so, my front rotors have grooves in them and my pads are wearing thin.

It's time I upgrade my rotors and pads also! What do we all recommend folks?

I am kind of thinking along the same lines. Some people say what you get is what you pay for, but others are saying great things about rotoworks. I am going to check them out now and see what the reviews say.

Most all of those are China made (cheap steel) you pay for what you get...

Check long term (30+ thousand miles) reviews...

There is always a demand for rotors/pads, they wear...

I was a little off. So far with about 3000 miles on them, no warpage, very little brake dust. Just beware when you first get them, for about 20 miles they suck. I properly bedded and seated the pads and they work great. I have been to the drag strip with them once, no auto crossing. So far for a daily driver they seem good.

Im gonna need fronts before I drive back to FL for Xmas. Ive got 31k and same a others have said, groved and lip on outer edge of front rotors. Plus pads are getting low. Probably do drilled and slotted with ceramic pads all the way around.

If you get drilled/slotted you don't need ceramic. That would run to cool and you might loose performance on the breaking side. I have semi-metallic pads with my drilled/slotted and I'm very happy, I think I have roughly 20K miles on them?
