Angry shaking steering wheel... help me diagnose?

Alright, I have a weird inconsistent steering wheel shake.

It shakes around 55-75 and is the worst at 65. Above 75 it goes away and below 55 its not there.

Nothing vibrates or clunks when I turn. Now, the weird part. Sometimes ill go on a drive and get no shaking at all... weird.

Also, yesterday it was shaking pretty good, then when I took a right turn on an onramp, it stopped shaking. For a half hour at least.

Its really starting to annoy me because its a good shake. Lol.

Rotors and pads were replaced 2 days ago. No effect.

I don't know about these car's but your steering system could be loose. I know that's a generel catch all, but joints wear out and so forth. Maybe something to look into.

If the roads are the same where you are as they are for me then I wouldn't be surprised. I got my wheels aligned 3 months later they were off again. Crappy roads, even the highways, and freaking road work all the time.

I'm thinking it will most likely boil down to a tire issue in the front. If they are new, i would have them road forced and see what pops up. The hunter and snap on machines are really good at knocking them out of the equation.

Tire balance, bent rim. Common problems perhaps.

Guarantee an alignment will fix it. I had about the same problem a year ago. Everyone will come up with crazy ideas for the wheel shake. Find the cheapest alignment place you can and let us know how it goes.

Mine did the same thing, got wheels balanced, tires rotated and fixed a rear caliper that wouldn't open and close correctly and was catching on the rotor. One of those things fixed it. Haha

Lol. I got an alignment 5 days ago so I know its not that. I know my rear wheels are out pf balance too thanks to my fender taking off a few chunks of tire. Next up is balance and rotation. Lol.

Could possibly be a broken belt in the tire too

Same problem with mine, but mine also shakes when I give it gas at any mph, an then shakes on its own betwwe 50 and 75. Had tires balanced an checked. Found out I had a lot of play in my left axle so I ned too have them replaced.

Its going to be a balance. Balance issues r like 90% of shaking issues. And when its only at certain speeds like ur saying that leads me to believe its a balance even more.

I have the same issue and my tires were just balanced. I'm wondering if the people didn't balance the tires right or if it's something else. Some days, it vibrates horribly around 60MPH-75MPH. Other days, not so much.

Put it up on lift and moved the tire back and forth. Had a lot of play and made a funny cracking noise. Urs is prob just balance though. Whenever I give it gas it will shack a little and when I shift it will. So it all kinda leads too my axles being bad I assume

Ah I see. Luckily I don't have that issue. So it probably really is a balancing issue.

Well, took my car in yesterday to get the front wheel rebalanced. Turned out one of the wheels wasn't balancing right due to the technician leaving the hub centric ring off (the ring was still on the car ). Now that the wheels have been re-balanced, I don't notice any more shaking. Gotta be honest, when I saw them trying to balance my wheel, I thought I had bent/warped the rim. Was about to get real pissed. Luckily, the other technician noticed that the hub centric ring was missing.

hahaha that means shitty techs and shitty work, would recommend you bring you car there anymore.
if they're stupid enough to forget the eccentric ring then they're stupid enough to forget about tightening that wheel nut or head bolt ect...
