Shocks already worn out i think

I got a 09 cobalt lt and i put some eibach prokit and i put it on with stock shocks i have had them on for about 4 months. I had to go pick up drinks for work and i got like 18 cases of 24 pack cans and now after i took them out my car sits about half and inch to 3/4 lower that it was i was wondering if it could have blown my shock. I know people say you need to replace stock springs after market spring do new shocks. My car only has like 7000 miles on it and probably 3000 with the lowering springs. Need help.

Shocks and struts only control wheel velocity, not ride height. Only springs control ride height.

shocks wont affect ride hieght, your springs are either worn/bad, or its all in your head

edit: wow just beat me

Worn shocks or struts will produce a bouncy ride when you hit bumps.

My spring shouldnt be bad i bought them brand new. I do got another question tho i put my front lowering springs on and and it maybe lowered the front a 1/4 of an inch and it says it lowers a 1-1/4. I have put the same lowering springs on my trans am i had and did it my self and the kit lowered it like is said. I might should have went with the eibach sportline seems like lol.

R U sure they are fully seated? The rear could be the springs settling some.

the eibachs are a coil binding spring. the LT shocks are not as aggressive damping as the TC 08 on struts and shocks...the posters here are correct but it is possible to damage the two pathetic coils holding the car up (the rest are in bind) by overloading the car. It is also possible to blow your shocks so they leak. I am not sure what a case of beer weighs, maybe 20 lbs so you put considerable weight in the car, but not as much as 4 adult males...so idk.

I would buy pedders springs and tc shocks/struts and an OTTP rear bar 1.0 if I were you....

Did it raise back up shortly after? Try pressing on the rear of the car and bouncing it. If it is easy to push up and down then stiffens up after a few times, then it's time to replace the shocks

well, springs tend to settle after some useage, and the drop may be lower after a while of using them. So unless you checked and noticed a height difference like the next day, I wouldn't be too worried about it.
