Should I get lowering springs in a bumpy area?

I live in an area that has some pretty tall bumps and pot holes. The largest one is out of my driveway, it's roughly 6 inches tall and has a large gradient. I do however love the look and it would be nice to take corners sharper. Is there anyone that has them in a decently rural area? If I don't lower my car then I'm definitely going to raise it roughly six inches to get the more monster look. Advice?

Here is a pic of my road. (A pretty old photo- before I installed my Aeroforce interceptor)

I guess, isn't there a technique besides going slow for taking larger bumps when lowered? Like taking it at an angle or something?

its all up to you. my SSC's weren't horrible, but that was pavement. i love my YYZ V2's like a .75" drop but she corners like shes on rails

Where I live it's all pavement except for the road I live on. I just know I would be financially fucked if I grounded out and punctured my intercooler or worse.

Aren't air springs the ones that adjust to your settings? Like could I hit a button in the cabin to raise the car whenever I got on a bad road and then lower it when it's good?

just get some Eibach Sport Line they lower your ride 1.5 rear and 1.3 front. they are not that much i have them on my ride they are decent, but there are much better ones out there for more money. just drive slow over bumps and try to go around the pot holes.

heres a tip from the euro club. once your low, you are learning to drive AGAIN! yes you will develop a new technique for driving low. IF! if you make a thread about you breaking your subframe, axles, or peenor when driving low.......a driving seminar is needed.

moral of post: you will develop a new technique when it comes to being low. you will swerve around big potholes and take bumps on an angle.

ex: owned a retardedly slammed mk4 jetta.

that's right, you'll learn fast or your car will pay the price,... it's not that hard just think like your driving a $200,000 car and you will be ok. you'll be fine just lower it.

Lowering springs don't make your car corner sharper.

they do lower the car's center of gravity, so you will corner better. not sharper, that is all in the tires. but not much more then stock. your ride will be stiffer. looks better too..

U will probably want to plan ahead on getting some new struts too like koni yellows. The car will feel like **** on just springs and from that poin on its a matter of time util the struts take a ****. ask me how i know.

They don't lower the center of gravity nearly enough to offset the fact that they don't adequately manage or control weight distribution. Don't even for a minute let yourself think these lowering springs promote good handling.

that's true, if you want really good handling you need to upgrade all suspension components, sway bars, struts & shock, springs, bushings, ect...

You need springs with enough travel to move some weight around, and/or a spring rate stronger than your average bowl of oatmeal. Most lowering springs fail at that. When your springs bottom at every turn they aren't letting your dampeners manage anything. It's just an uncontrolled mess. Maybe it feels sporty, but it's not.

Anyway, we're off the track here. I don't think the OP is looking to make the best handling car. I think he just wants to look good but not hang up on the undercarriage on the way in and out of the driveway.
