SNEAK PEAK: Time Attack Lower Control Arms: Street Version.
Well....Like it says first pics of the prototype street version Time Attack Lower Control arms. These will fit any Cobalt, G5 or HHR.(I think Ion too.) They are a factory FE5 lower control arm with the ride(rear) bushing replaced by a greased spherical type joint.
Gives you the benefits of the race-only spherical joint: freer range of motion, not fighting to bend the bushing as with stock or especially poly, eliminates changes in alignment under aggressive driving due to compression of bushing, reduces wheelhop caused by unwanted control arm movement.
But doesnt require the constant maintenance and expensive seasonal replacement that race-spec open/non greased spherical joints do. And doesnt suffer from the wear problems that polyurethane bushings do.
I expect install tomorrow and updates as miles are put on. These are literally one of if not the first ones produced, actual joint and appearance will almost certainly change on production units, and all other normal Disclaimers.
Ring up Josh at OTTPerformance.com and let him know if youre interested!

UPDATE: 2/11/09
Arms are installed, went right in just like stock, took me about 25-30 minutes(average install with all tools and a lift)
There is plenty of, travel on droop(wheel down) this was originally thought to be a potential concern with the design, but ended up being unwarranted.
After install simply pulling out of my bay and through shop it was very obvious "something" was different. Braking input couldnt be felt through steering wheel(it can on FE1), car felt much more "solid"....If I hadnt installed these myself I would have never said "gee this car has a sprherical type control arm joint" but it is tangible that the car isnt stock. You get a much better road feel through the seat, some people will call it vibes, but it really isnt objectionable, its just easier to feel what the tires are doing.
30 miles trouble free over some intentionally tough roads.
Pics of installed:

as always sorry for the shitty pics.
UPDATE 2/17/09
Ive been driving the ballz off my car.....Ive put 500 miles on these so far and they havent complained once or shown any signs of weakness. Steddy2112 and I went out on some of his backroads on Friday night o'dark thirty, and just hammered on the car. Roads that some of you will likely never see, and if you drive over worse roads with any regularity, youre not driving a Balt, I hit this curved section of road with 10" ripples in the tarmac, car didnt care, Steddy said he'd NEVER gone that fast down that road.
UPDATE 3/12/09
I have over 1300 miles on these at this point, they weather the Great '09 N'or Easter just fine and the horribly rutted hardpack snow and ice roads that followed were no problem either, they are still going strong and show no signs of wear or failure of any kind. Ive got some fresh TC struts and shocks as well as Pedders springs now and the car is just awesome for an LS on stock Conti 195's (for any LS.....) Time Attack rear antiroll bar next week(hopefully), 5 lug swap shortly thereafter........of course followed closely by a 4whl disc conversion.

wow is all I have to say. All these time attack parts coming out is simply amazing.
rotated mounts, rack spacers, and now these! Whats next!?
If OTT were to slap a "Time Attack Suspension Kit" together, cut us a deal, and hold another group buy in a few months I will be all over these!

Talk to Josh, like anything if theres enough interest he can proly do a group buy. These arms are probably a minimum of a month or more away.... the next part is coming sooner than that...

anyway, did you get that PM i sent you? If not, im gonna conclude i am unable to PM you, and will just have to make a thread with your name on it...

Let me look again....I dont think I am......maybe I blocked you for some reason, rofl.
You ever get the sway bar alright?
This is great, just another product that I get to spend more money on. And I was beginning to think my build was done. I feel that I'll need these as well. I wonder what you're talking about though with something coming in the near future besides this.
For the record, I would be down for a group buy with the suspension bits.
