So Im thinking air ride....

This year I didnt do too much to the car, saved money and paid off bills and played the responsible roll all year, well it finally paid off, im saving a good chunk of change now each month and im thinking next summer id like to go to Air ride, looking mostly for info on here from the people who have done it, whats some pros and cons you guys noticed with yours, pricing, what kits to buy and stay away from, any other modding needed in the wheel wells or just basically any good info you can bring to the table, and pictures are more than welcome too Also will this be good for a DD?

Side note - im not concerned with the handling and whatnot as it will be more for show modification.

EasyStreet had a kit.... and then re-vamped it I believe.

It's either available again now or available again soon.

I sell EasyStreet, so if anyone needs air ride... just PM me.

Air ride is probably one of the best things I have done to my car.. I am using a Universal Air kit! It comes in bare metal peices and requires you to do some welding and painting. Easy Sreet is a nice kit too, just not what I was looking for. Universal air lets you play around with the kit and IMO the parts are by far better quality. It cost around 1900! Took my buddy about a week to install. Easystreet would of been alot faster as it is a bolt on.

Pros:
Handling is great improved
Decreased body roll
Doesnt add alot of weight
Makes your car look totally different and you never have to worry about scraping your bumper when entering/ exiting places.
Attention getter!
Easier to wash wheel wells! and underneath
Jacks can actually fit under your car opposed to having spings!

Cons:
Not really the best setup for DD
Doesnt like cold weather. Valves stick!
Expensive

If you have any questions just ask! Ill be glad to help any way I can!

thanks man I like the look of your car alot! I was thinking of getting a cheap cavalier or something for winter driving and just running the cobalt in the warmer months, that way i really dont have to worry about the freezing or DD issue. This is the 3rd car ive owned, and Ive wanted air on all 3, this stage in my life I think I should get it done if i want it now because within the next 5 years or so i foresee a marriage, kids and house in my future.....

Yea it is pretty much for show reasons, but trust me it rides and drives like a dream! Better than a cadillac lol.. best suspension mod ever. Easy street would be easier for you to put on. Its all ready to go and has instructions. My kit has everything but you have to assemble everything and it requires modifiying the front strut! I can make mine lower its just I dont like how when you go lower the back wheel comes towards the front of the car. I could make it work the right way but i would have to move the sping perches in the back. I have 19s and they tuck. My sig doesnt really show it too good but thats because I am on unlevel ground.

When you hit the switches people notice.

But anyway I dont drive mine in the winter. Its parked since Im at PSU. I dont really need a car. But when I go home and its snowing its takes a while to get it to raise up I have to start it and blast the heat to get it to go up/down.
