Find a buddy or a good shop, and yes you should get an alignment.

Don't pay someone to install them, unless you have to. Check out the how-to's, it's very easy even with just hand tools. Having pneumatic tools and a lift, I did all 4 of mine in about an hour, start to finish. First timer, expect maybe 2-3 hours or more.

Yes, you need an alignment every time you change your suspension. Doesn't have to be the same day, but within a week or two would be ideal.

Here is what appears to be a good how-to: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...springs-50477/

Right now I'm debating whether or not I'm going to attempt to install mine myself.

Probably a couple hundred. I too have no tools... no spring compressors, obviously no air tools, or any of that. So then to go buy all that and then not know what the **** I'm doing once I get it, ends up making sense to find somebody, or a shop.

i just posted a thread on the local forum and paid a member to do it for me for like 80 bucks. i didnt have any kinda tools and shops wanted shiz tons of money to do it.

it looks confusing at first with the how too's but once you see it done and get your hands dirty its pretty easy

Granted I am very noobish with mechanical stuff in the car, electrical is my strong suit... but it really doesn't look horribly complicated. I just don't have the tools and even if I did I'd much rather do it in the company of someone who knows what they're doing.

springs are easy... If someone charges you more than 100 bucks they're ripping you off..
It's too easy to do it yourself

Rent the tools from a parts store..
You can probably rent them all for 20 bucks.

It's too easy like i've said and everyone else.

many parts stores rent tools for free.. you just have to put money down. like my spring compressors cost me $50 to rent at o'riellys but when i bring them back i get my money back.. same thing for other tools

Try to avoid pepboys. If you can't do it yourself, get somebody professional.
