Since you have the SS/SC, your car came with sport struts which will do perfect with the springs. Have no worries.

I would hope so, its only an inch drop and I think it would ride good. Ive dropped several cars in the past and within a couple months stock shocks become piles of *****!

How long do you think the LS shocks will last? How much do you think they'll cost to be replaced when they become available aftermarket?

I doubt it. Im sure they are good shocks but I can't see them lasting as long as the car would. Honestly if your really concerned about suspension save up and get a full suspension kit there are a few available for the SS S/C.

if you can change your springs, you can easily change your shocks

On my celica i did lowering springs, and shocks and struts. Just for the labor of installing all that was 350. I guess you must be talking about the eibach pro-kit since you talking about a 1inch drop, i have the sportlines on my ss/sc, its a 1.6front and 1.8rear. What cobalt do you have?

I guess I need to mention I have 225/45/18s on my car too. Little bigger than stock, not sure if rubbing would be an issue with sportlines or not. If so, I can do the prokit.

have u measured? Cuz Gravana and Modern performance have both said drops of 1.0 and 1.3

I've measured my stock space 2" in the front 3" in the back. And from what I have seen of Cobalts on sportlines the front tires would be amost touching the fenders.

^^^ that distance is not 0.4"

Nope. 1.0 and 1.3" for SS\SC and 1.6\1.8 for the other models.

Did you measure before and after?

Like P7x said, everyone would definitely be having rubbing issues with an extra half inch or so.
