Unhappy SS/TC E-Brake Failure

Has anyone had problems with their SS/TC e-brake? I had the dealership tighten them because they weren't holding at 35,000 miles. And now at 39,000 miles they aren't holding again!!!! Does anyone know of a recall or a solution to this problem? Or do I just need to change the Brakes? I haven't even had to change the front brakes yet.

i just recently had the same problem fixed. the dealership put on new rear calipers and that solved it. i had mine go out numerous times and my drive is on a hill. since they replaced the calipers though i havent found my car at the bottom of the hill again.

My rear pads were down to the metal at 44K miles. If you've never lubed the caliper slides on your rear brakes your rear pads definitely worn unevenly. The slides dry up fairly quick on the caliper and need to be lubed to prevent uneven pad wear for max pad life. I'm guessing your rear pads are in need of replacing... Your front pads should last must longer. My front pads have 50k on them and still have plenty of beef.

seems like it always happens with the cold weather. make sure you pull it up all the way and ALWAYS put your car in gear when you have it parked. and yes there is a way to tighten it but ive never done it.

yea, I had the same issue and they did the same fix. They tightened it once and I came back and they replaced it (under warranty).

When I first bought mine, the Ebrake went, the dealer took care of it though.

Pull the rear two sections of the center console and make sure the cables are good. I had this issue once and one of the cables was undone

My e-brake sucks too, I always feel like it isn't holding good enough but I still only use that and never leave it in gear. Waiting to come out from work one day to see my heat exchanger smashed because it rolled into the curb.

Lol what? Why don't you just put it in gear then? You're just waiting for a facepalm.

My 2010 SS/TC 55k on it and my e-brake is near it's last click.

I went to the dealer and the service manager told me drive in reverse and brake and few times and some grommet will self tighten. Regardless I am a huge believer in reverse parking, and have been doing it since day 1. Tis not working...
