Struts
Struts
Ok, so I have an LS lowered with sportlines and i've about had enough of the super soft struts/shocks and the bottoming out. What is my best option for a new strut setup for this car? I would like to spend under 300 total if possible, thanks.
Well you're in luck...would have been easier for you to just search than to post for something that's been asked THOUSANDS of times, but here you go:

Just over $300 to your door. They are the SS/TC struts/shocks and it's the best bang for your buck. Unless you want to spend double (which I can see you don't) these are you're only real option. After these it would be Koni Yellow inserts which run $600+.

Struts aren't going to solve your ride quality issues. Sportlines ride like **** because they coil bind. Save up and get some coilovers for $800-$1500. Then you can ditch the Sportlines on some unsuspecting sucker for $150ish!
Sportlines really aren't that bad for most people...the main reason I'm ditching mine for Pedders is because I need a more comfortable ride for delivering pizza. I also will enjoy the ability to have the car handle SO much better with both the FE5 suspension and the Pedders.
my sportlines are completely compressed and ride like im hitting a dead body on any bump over a inch. Are pedders with tc struts really that much better for ride and handling or should i try to save up for some b&g coils?
My struts just seem to be worn and/or shot, would the SS struts last much longer with the sportlines? I know the stock LS struts aren't really meant to handle any sort of alteration, especially a change in springs as I heard they wear out about 3x faster that way. I just want a set of struts that will last longer than a year like mine did after I put on the sportlines.
good luck got same setup dont mind ride but city streets eat up the struts quick. So far they have still replaced under warranty. we'll see how many times they'll do it for free. then ill have to upgrade. They've done 7 struts and two control arms so far!
Holy crap, thats insane how many times they've been replaced! I'm out of the warranty now so I think i'm just going to get those ones off of crateenginedepot and hope that they will last longer than the awful oem ls struts.
