Suspension repair under warranty

As many are aware the suspension gets clunky and sounds like **** after a short amount of miles (I'm at 30k miles.) This isn't my question thought.

I was thinking of taking it to the dealer to see about warranty repair but was worried about being blown off. Now I have a local mechanic (ASE certified) I take my car to for whatever. I was thinking of him to diagnose it (fairly cheap) and bringing his professional opinion to the dealership to maybe give me some leverage. Is this a good idea?

Is it ever a bad idea to walk into a dealership informed and prepared?

might as well try it, no guarantee it will work, and if they dont wanna warranty it they wont, and trying to make them through the legal system will cost more then replacing the parts,
I wouldnt have him take anything apart, just listen/look, because then they could try and be like the mechanic didnt put it back together properly/damaged something

I think what I may do is have my private mechanic do a visual inspection, then take it to the dealer, and then if the dealer says nothing is wrong, then I will pull out the recommendations.
