What do you mean the service tool? I used a socket that had the rear cut out to accept a wrench and a torx bit screwdriver... or maybe it was a hex bit... The socket looked like the one on the far right but not as tall:

ya but i want to torque the nut at the end of the install and that wont let me...but yes good idea and I have done that part...when I get the service tool I will post a piktar...or Maven can, I bet he has it...

Lol I'm not familiar with this "Mavens way" Is there a walk through on how to change out springs?

support control arm with jack undo top nut, then lower jack dropping control arm with strut and spring assembly , leaving top isolator mount in position. massive oversimplification but thats it.

Strut rod socket. They come in different sizes, be sure to buy the proper one.
OR in a pinch you can take a single DEEP IMPACT(not chrome) socket in the proper size, then you just grind away one half of the socket wall, starting about a 1/2" above hex, and stopping about 1/2" below the top. This only works if you have the proper size Torx driver in an "L"-shape. Most people will find the proper socket easier to use, but my "inapinch" method is much cheaper and works just fine. /mysecrets

progress springs give a nice drop IMO i had them on my SS/SC.
