tein?
Ontario really showed up in this thread. It's hard to tell someone to get springs when you know there is a much better option.
If you dont want to slam your car pedders would be perfect. If you find they are too pricey I would go with SS/TC springs eibach Prokit are decent but they are actually softer than ss/tc springs

i have sportlines. i take corners fast and stay glued to the road. yeah that have coil bind. whatever. the ride is great. and the stance is ight...i wish i had coilovers...but i dont. sportlines are the way to go if you dont want to spend 400 bills on pedders. leave the teins to the jdm cars.
Here's my car on SS/TC Shocks/Struts w/ Pedders Springs.

Sportlines DO NOT ride corner better. "Riding" is an opinion... as different people would prefer their car to ride different ways. The Pedder spring is a pretty stiff spring, so the ride can be considered rough at times... but you'll get that with almost any lowering spring for our car.
I owned Sportlines for 3 years before I switched to Pedder's last year. It was a night and day difference in performance. The Pedder's cut corners A LOT better than Sportlines... and I'm not talking about corners in your neighborhood.
I used to have a chart that plotted the Spring Rates of a few different aftermarket springs for our cars... I'll have to see if I can find it again.

I don't have track times. But i've ridden in and driven cars with sportlines. I've owned and thrashed coilovers, and the Pedders are by far superior.
And I have twisty mountain roads to play with them on.
They have been proven on the track. You'll have to ask him for the times, as i don't have them.

In all reality, from an engineering perspective, you can just compare the spring rates to know that the Pedder's will perform better. A stiffer spring will handle a ton better on our car.
I guarantee you that Pedder's will perform on a track better then the Tein's, or just about any other spring for the Cobalt. I'm trying to find my Spring Rate info, but I'm not having much luck.
If you want though, I can post up all sorts of Suspension Theory and Engineering info.
It'll all look like jibberish to most people.
John Powell. He road races his car... and Pedder's are the spring he'll run on the track in his Redline.

It ranges from car model to car model. They'll lower a Base Model more than a SS/Redline/GT.
Bottom edge of fender lip to ground through center of wheel:
Stock: 28" rear, 27 3/8" front.
Pedder's: 25 15/16" rear, 25 1/2" front
SO lets call that 2.0" rear and 1.85" front. That's inbetween the Eibach Pro Kit and the Sportlines.
These measurements were taken from a Cobalt LS. An SS/GT/Redline won't get lowered as much, since they come lower from the factory.
