Tein Suspension

How many of you would be interested if TEIN came out with springs and/or Coilovers for the Cobalt (mostly the TC)?

I thought Tein had actually abandoned the Cobalt, either way, why would you want the Basics? They arent adjustable damping, they use spring preload to adjust ride height.....

I had heard from impulse engineering that they were going to work on it again because of the SS/TC reputation is getting. Fully adjustable coilovers and new springs.

I would if they are willing to develop a kit for people who buys suspension for performance, instead of buying it for the "label" and the word "coilover".

A 2k kit with individual bound/rebound damper adjustment and choice of different springs rates would be nice.

To be honest, the stock TC set-up is probably far superior than any sub 2k aftermarket suspension you can buy on the market now, especially when people that got those suspension don't even bother to probably setting it up and tuning it with a well matched set of ARBs.

I took my 100% stock TC out for a test-and-tune last weekend on a 60s course and it confirms all the rave from the media.

It is simply awe inspiring how GM can make a cheapo 60/40 weight split FF layout car with torsion beam rear handle like that and on stock tires! This PROVES the ability for someone to properly tuning it far out weights the ability for someone to simply throw money at it.

Here's my original thread about this - https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/suspension-67/tein-coilovers-installed-w-pics-129161/

hmm I wonder if anyone would buy my tein coilovers??? They only did the basic dampner kit though, so only the front dampners are adjustable, no camber control, no edfc but could be put on. I'd trade for a ksport kit.

They used my car for the fitting and gave me there only production model, I talked with John (head engineer at Tein) and he said they were not going to release anything cause there wasn't a cost effective margin. There site has said under development since they used my car in August 06. However with the new TC being released they might bring it back to the drawing board.

Tein would probably release these at their average price, between 900-1,000.

You've been PM'd. Don't have the cash now, but if they're not going anywhere I'd love to work out some details..

pm'd response

if and if I decide to get rid of these, I'd only trade for another set of coilovers, I really like the ksports, but having a one off set it pretty sick.

It does when the TC has brought new people to the Balt, and has gotten the media raving about its handling and performance.
