Thoughts/questions after being lowered

Ok so my car seems alot more agile being lowered on my progress springs, is this normal? My steering seems alot more looser not as tight anymore.

Also my mechanic who did my front springs, I did the rear, said that I dont need an alignment because i just lowered it and id only need one if it was messed up from the factory. He explained to me how it works etc and it sounded right. Plus im not really pulling in any direction so i think its good.

Now though when i hit bumps things arent as soft. If i upgrade my struts to the Koniis will that make my ride feel better and softer? I dont want my car like a school bus when my ladies are in the car.

the koni's will make the ride alot more stiff, theyre valved heavier to handle the addes stress of stiffer aftermarket lowering springs. if you want a soft cushy ride while also being lowered id suggest air bag suspension.

You should get an alignment unless you want your tires wearing out faster. I think when I lowered my cobalt and the redline I used to have the toe was off. If anything take it somewhere and have it checked.

The lowering springs should make the car handle better, thus you should feel more agile. I don't think an alignment is absolutely necessary, but its a good thought to get done.

When I put on my sportlines I took an awl and made scratch marks where the struts were when stock. When I reinstalled the strut I just lined it up with scratch marks. I have yet to get an alignment and probably wont unless I see unusual tire wear.

yea the alignment shouldnt be an issue, but with the oem shocks and struts on the ls model they wont last very long with lowereing springs. i drive hard pretty much every day and mine lasted about 5000 miles before the rears were leaking fluid. the koni's were a huge improvement for me but i dont want the soft cushy ride, and i have the shocks set about 3/4 as stiff as theyll go(for street driving). i havent set them to the softest setting since i installed them so i dont know how soft theyll go.
