Unhappy Tire rubbing strut on left side

I just got two new 225/45/18 tires on my 05 SS/SC. I know this is pushing the size limit, but I was pretty sure it would work. I heard some weird noise right when I started driving, and i just blamed it on the Yokahoma road noise. After a little more driving I could smell burning rubber.

I pulled over and checked, when i saw that the inside of my left tire was rubbing the bottom of the spring housing, ill add pictures soon if that would help. At first i was thinking that the tires were too big, until I looked on the other side and saw that there was an inch of clearance. Anyway I moved them to the back and put my backs on front which are really worn 225/45/18. Is there a way to diagnose this without just throwing money at it? Im figuring on either bent strut, or control arm, but I dont know how to tell for sure.

if you had a bent strut or control arm you would notice it unless someone had it aligned to cover that up. Go have the alignment checked.
