Update on Progress Springs!

According to Joey at Progress this morning, there is a short back order on these (approx 2 weeks or so) FYI.

So please plan accordingly.

Will you still offer free shipping in two weeks then?

Now call them up and tell them to make a second set that drops the SS S/C 1/2" front and rear evenly and about 35% stiffer then stock and I take a set.

Becouse thats all it needs! And I mostly want the stiffer spring.
I would like to lower the car and still be able to go in and out of a driveway here in Mi.
And going to low dosnt always mean faster or beter cornering ether.
And I dont think the stock half shafts are going to last long with more power if the car is to low.
Lowering changes the angle and if you dont have the right angles you will brake things.

I think the progress drop is perfect. I have been waiting such a long time for these to ship... I heard word about them like 2 months ago.

I am fully aware of suspension dynamics, however if you want better handling than stock, it usually requires a more aggressive drop because most production cars have a significant amount of body roll. They are designed with minimal noise, disturbance, ride comfort and max clearence.

You would have to contact them for spring rates, but the drop is (-2.0" FR & -1.8" RR)

what type of impact will these springs have on my factory suspension ? will it degrade it? how fast? and what kind of camber kit do I need? I know its alot of questions but I wanna lower my Cobalt with your springs, just for looks, I wont be doing any extreme handling, just normal driving

well they are $50 cheaper than the Elibach sportlines from TTR and are a good brand however they just dont lower the rear enough for me. I'd spend the extra money for the almost 3/4 of an inch lower in the rear

You can add about .2" more for settling height.

Any drop more than an 1" will cause your factory shocks to wear much faster than normal. A simple Ingalls Front Kit with 2 degrees correction kit like this will be fine:

^^You will need 2 of these. 1 per front wheel.

These springs will give the car more of a race car feel, low, stuck to the ground and less roll than OEM.

The Eibach from TTR would be $255 shipped they would be almost $279 from Dezod. So for the Eibach I would be looking at spending $75 more at TTR and on Dezod I'd have to spend almost $100 more for the same Eibach springs that lower the rear more which in my opinion needs to be lowered more than the front. Im not trying to point negative fingers at your company but seems like TTR has the best prices around for most products and they also have a rewards program which comes in handy when buying lots of parts. Also if you tell them about a lower price you saw on a competitors site for a product that they sell for more they will usually work with the cobaltss members and lower the prices by offering coupon codes and free shipping so that they offer the best price for the item.

I just got an e-mail from DeZod and this is what he says "I think the OEM set-up will compensate for the rear enough. The front is the worrying point."

Yeah front camber has been a slight issue on these cars. Not so much the rear.

Umm but are my drag radials going to fit if it's lowered with this kit, or with any kit for that matter...?

The drag radials should fit because they will be on smaller rims. 16" is good.

I have a couple questions about these springs for you and I'm really interested in buying springs within the week.

1. Are these springs in stock now?
2. Are you still offering free shipping?
3. How much better will the car handle (I'm going to get the progress sway bar at the same time?)
4. How is the ride?
5. Do you have any pictures with the springs installed?
6. Do you offer free shipping on the sway bar?

I will be awaiting your answers because as of now I think these are the springs I will buy

Progress has the springs on backorder now, so they should be back in stock in 2-3 weeks.
