WARNING: Check your 'balt for brake line rub

I was just recently under my car doing an oil change when I noticed that my hard brake line going to the right front was out of its retainer. So I tried to put it into the retainer but it would not reach. I realized that the line is not bent properly and I believe that it is this way from factory because nobody has ever touched anything to do with brakes on my car. Because it is bent improperly and not in the retainer, it is rubbing on the frame of the car and also the bolt near the loop of the line. This is causing wear on the line. Here are pics of what the situation is.

CHECK YOUR CARS!!

Wow, I've worked in that area of my car many times and my line isn't anywhere close to where that one is. I have lots of clearance.

Are the bends by the bolt in the pic (where my line just looks looped) the same?

This picture specifically looks like it's damaged

The line should be coming straight up out of that fitting. Yours appears to be bent right at the fitting. That would explain why it popped out of the clip. Check the other side to see what it looks like.

Already checked the other side and the bends are nice and straight. Not a loop. I was just not sure if the two are supposed to be different or it was actually damaged.

Take it to your dealer and see if they'll replace it under warranty -- then let us know the outcome. thanks.

Just noticed this pic I had in my gallery. Apparently the brake line was in the retainer before. SO that means that someone must have tampered with it to cause it to come out of the retainer and change the bend on the line!
