warped rotors or suspension problem?

im having a bit of an annoying issue. right now it seems like my rotors are warped. when i brake my steering wheel shakes. only when im braking. now the only thing that makes me worried that it may not be the rotors is that a week ago i did hit a pretty big bump in the road. im not sure if that messed up something else.

anyway, it only shakes when i brake, and as i slow down the shaking gets slower. so im still heavily leaning towardes warped rotors. idk how i warped my rotors tho, i havnt been autox'ing or anything, did have a few hard braking moments tho from slowing down at high speeds. i honestly dont even remember when it started happening.

anyone know if warped rotors can get worse over time? thanks for the help.

if it helps i did just change out my rims and tires last week.

Did the vibration start when you changed wheels? Could have over torqued them.

im not 100% sure. lol. but i believe so. anyway, i already untorqued them and then retorque them. didnt solve anything.

the guys that installed my wheels didnt use a star pattern when torqing them, could that have any affect? i did torque them again myself afterwords tho correctly.

if you over torqued them when you installed your wheels, that could have warped them.

undoing them and re torquing them wont fix your issue, new rotors will be the only fix

its not a wheel balance problem, if that were the case id get vibrations from driving. i only get them from braking, nothing else. its the rotors like i thought it was.

I had the same problem and it was a rotors. Dealership re-surfaced the rotors for me, but the problem is back again now. I'm going to see them next week and hopefully they will just replace them this time.

Usually warped rotors or pad material on the rotors causes BRAKE PEDAL pulsation..not steering wheel vibration on braking. Not saying you can't get steering wheel vibration with warped rotors, but my hunch is that it's a loose/broken steering component like the tie rod ends or something else. You did say..now the only thing that makes me worried that it may not be the rotors is that a week ago i did hit a pretty big bump in the road . Did this problem start after that...or before?
