Warranty and suspension

I got a 09 cobalt and i want to lower it would that void my warranty. My car just really sits to high in the back and no one makes just rear lowering springs. So i have to buy the set so i would put all of it on not just the rear springs

at most they will deny you a warrenty claim on your suspention components. they cannot void your entire warrenty because of one modification.

They just wouldn't warranty anything directly affected by a car being lowered, that could mean struts/shocks (those are wear parts...so they probably aren't covered anyway?), cv joints, steering rack, etc. I'm sure I'm missing some stuff, but chances of that stuff getting wrecked that quickly are slim. Besides, you can take precautions...buy lowering springs and SS/TC shocks/struts and a pair of Steering Rack Spacers from OTT and that will prolong the life of many of those things compared to just putting lowering springs on.

Think about long term rather than short term. I recommend upgrading those things even if you do a mild drop...also, I recommend Pro-kit if you want a minimal drop or Pedders if you want a great handling car with a moderate drop. I have Sportlines and they're nice, but H&R or Pedders would have been better for me.

They have to prove that a specific mod caused the failure, in order to void part of your warrenty.

If you have a base cobalt just get Cobalt SS/SC or TC springs much cheaper than Prokit, the drop will be the same and you'll still have warrenty!

I will even sell you a really nice set of SS/SC for $70 shipped
