What do I Need???
What do I Need???
Want to upgrade from FE1 (06 ls) front sway bar to FE5 front sway bar (SS/SC). What do I need to make this happen besides the actual bar itself. Planned on going with poly bushings. Do I need new brackets or what?? Hopefully someone can help.
I'll give a shot at what's needed. Anyone feel free to chime in and correct me if I made any mistakes...
Being a 06 LS you probably have a 1 bolt tab. I know Powell would recommend upgrading to a 2 bolt tab, but if that is not an option for you, I believe you can reuse the same tab. If you reuse the same tab you will need to get the right bushing. You can contact Tom @ Crate Engine Depot and he can tell you what bushing you would need. Also, from what I read OEM bushings are better than poly bushings.
You probably would also want to upgrade your end links. Powergrid end links are the best end links you can buy for the car but they are pricey. Powergrid end links would probably hold up better in the winter over the alternative Moog end links. If the Powergrid end links are too much for your budget, you can settle with Moog endlinks.
TL : DR
-Reuse same tab, get correct bushing (OEM>Poly) for sway bar.
-Get end links from either Powergrid (pricey) or Moog (cheaper alternative)
