What endlinks to get

Ok Im thinking I need to replace my endlinks since I have a clunk sound. I have a 06 SS/SC with FE1 struts. When I goto get my endlinks do I want to get endlinks for FE1? I only ask this since Im going to put lowering springs on at the same time. All help would be great thanks.

Moog makes reasonably priced replacement parts. Definately better than stock. Powergrid makes awesome links, definately expensive.

Is that not what the stock 06 SS/SC is. FE3?

fe1 is base model, ls, lt, g5
fe3 is ss/na, g5 gt
fe5 is ss/sc, ss/tc

but the 08-10 ss/tc fe5 is a newer version with better rebound and dampening rates.

So when it is time to replace my struts is it possible to just put the struts from 08-10 FE5 in?

Yes thats what I was going to do its a direct bolt in.

So I went to advance auto today and they pulled up my car. They had a endlink for non performance suspension and with it. One was longer than the other. I assume since I have a SS/SC with G85 I do have but just want to make sure.

Also I just want to make sure Im not doing this for nothing. Is there a way to check to see if there bad. I pulled and jerked on both and they didn't seem to move but the car was on the ground if that matters. I have been getting this clunking noise for a little while now it seems to go away at times when Ive been driving awhile. Just let me know your thoughts thanks.

Not sure other than ask someone who works at a Chevrolet dealership or familar with that car. Should be the same for most cars. If I get a chance I am going to Google it.

I just replaced my driver's side swaybar endlink. The rattle started small then got a lot louder in about 2 weeks. I thought the sound was coming from the passenger's side. But the way I tested it was to unload the front suspension. I then used the palm of my hand to hit the top of the sway bar on both sides. Near where the endlink is. I was surprised to find the movement on the driver's side.

The actual metal-on-metal contact was happening on the driver's side but resonating across the bar and sounded like the passenger's side. As I was taking the endlink off, the ball joint connecting the endlink to the swaybar fell apart. The joint was worn that bad after 29,000 miles.

Having the same clunking sound from up front too from the crappy 264 freeway! Only took 2 months driving it but now this. Going to take a look tomorrow morning to see what the story is.

get the shorter moog endlinks.

Search under me I have pics of the stock FE3 links compared to the Moog FE5's.
You definitely want FE5 links if you dont currently have them and plan on lowering your car.

There shouldnt be a shorter set than whats on the car. I know moogs part #s mess with people.
If you wish measure yours and then go in and measure. Or if they have both sets then the set you want should be the shorter set. The measurements might even be listed on this website.

Yea I hear it real bad in the mornings when or when I havent been driving the car for a few hours. Then I hear it over bumps pretty good. I hope this is what it is and not the struts. Much rather replace and upgrade cheap. Then just replace something so its fixed and get no improvment.

No they are what you already have unless they are powergrids or moogs
