Actually I would expect the lower springs to be stiffer to keep them from hitting the bump stops (less wheel travel). The taller springs can be softer initially, and then progress to the same as the short springs at full jounce (they are both progressive, meaning as they compress they get stiffer in a non-linear manner - non-progressive springs add X pounds for each inch of travel, while progressive are X in the first inch, X+Y in the second, X+Y+Z in the third - well, hopefully that makes sense).

i was under the impression that the pro kit handles slightly better than the sportlines, so that might be one of the differences you were looking for.

sportlines not only give the car a lower stance but the spring rates are off the charts and youd want a quality shock absorber to be able to handle that spring rate, and you will not like the ride and if you do your g/f or mom will hate it. lol, if u ever give your mom a ride.

woah.. conflicting info all over the place...Unless things have changed within the last 2 years the sports are specific and the pros are progressive. Going to make this a simple comparison. I've tried both on the same car. Sports are by far rougher but traditonally sit lower and help grip a TAD better. Pro's sit higher/softer but under load stiffen up. Kinda like the spring has a brain and knows if your mall crusing or blasting around an auto course. I personally found the sportlines to look better and handle better with the trade off of having baby shaken syndrome. Now Im drunk and too lazy to support my specific/progressive claims but I don't see how Eibach could have changed this formula. Someone chime in or Im going to have to do some reasearch.

I've been told the Sportlines are progressive for the Cobalt as well. The only difference is the ride height. And as with you if anyone has more info it'd be great.

But my Sportlines ride great!

they are both progressive, as far as spring rates, the prokit might be linear though, not sure, i doubt eibach will even release that info, someone would have to test it themselves. maybe one of the sponsors can call eibach and find out unless they have that info.

heres some good info on springs

Yes the PROkits are more set up with higher spring rates, for autocrossing, where prokits keep a "STOCK" like ride, with a lower drop!
